Applause Issue 35: Unnatural State is LIVE!
Issue 35 of Applause is out now!
Applause is based out of Arkansas, "The Natural State." But this issue, we're thrilled to share with you our "Unnatural State." For this special feature, we looked for pieces that embraced the strange, deranged, macabre, or just plain weird. What we found is a place with no smooth edges that left a shiver that rides deep in our bones.
Now, in the words of Ari Long, our managing editor, "step through the door. May whatever you encounter鈥攕trange or familiar鈥攕how you something you have perhaps forgotten about who you are. Find yourself. Remember yourself. Love yourself."
You are about to enter the Unnatural State!
Coming this April, Applause Issue 35 is exploring unnatural states. While our pristine lakes and rivers and our majestic, rolling mountains may have earned Arkansas the name 鈥淭he Natural State,鈥� this year, Applause will be charting a different terrain: unnatural relationships with the natural world, personal relationships with the unnatural, unnatural relationships with ourselves and with others, and all those spaces between.
